Do you remember the cartoon character the “Sponge Bob”?  Well, who doesn’t?  The cute little sponge bob who made our childhood special. You might be wondering why are we discussing this? Can you remember the shape of Sponge Bob? Yes, you got it right! Square. Now, what do know about squares? Do we know the Properties of Squares?

In this post, we will discuss all the properties of squares that will help you attempt geometric questions that are asked in SSC Exams.

In our previous posts, we have discussed properties of parallelogram, rectangle, and rhombus. Quickly review these concepts to have a deep understanding of Properties of Squares.


What is a Square?

A square is four sided closed figure. It is a parallelogram whose angles are perpendicular and all the sides are equal to each other.

In a square, all the sides are equal to each other. 


AB = BC = CD = DA

In a square, opposite sides are parallel to each other.


AB// CD 
BC// AD

In a square, All the angles equal to 90°. 


 ∠A = ∠B = ∠C = ∠D = 90°

In a square, diagonals are equal in length.  


AC = BD
