Meanwhile, SSC has released the Priority Order Form for CGL 2016 candidates. 1. Assistant Audit Officer [Indian Audit and Accounts Dept. under CAG]
The Indian Audit and Accounts Department is the organisation responsible for auditing the accounts of Central and State governments and Public sector companies. AAOs will help the Audit Officer/Sr. Audit officer in conducting audits (financial, performance, compliance) of a specific department.

2. Inspector (Examiner) [CBEC]
The job profile is within the Central Board of Excise & Customs (CBEC) department. The work is limited to examining of items and verifying whether appropriate taxes have been levied on goods moving in and out of the port. Work location will be mostly in coastal regions.

3. Inspector of Income Tax [CBDT]
This is a grade C post with the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) department and could involve a little bit of travelling locally. Job profile includes assessing, verifying, and processing IT records of individuals and business concerns.

4. Inspector (Preventive Officer) [CBEC]
The officer will be in charge of gathering information and acting based on that info to prevent malpractice under the Central Board of Excise & Customs (CBEC) department. Posting will be mostly in cities that have ports/airports such as Chennai, Cochin, Kolkatta and Mumbai.

5. Inspector (Central Excise) [CBEC]
This officer is responsible for inspecting the taxes/returns filed by companies, verifying the correctness of claims submitted, processing the data, and maintaining overall records under the purview of the Central Board of Excise & Customs (CBEC) department.

6. Assistant (Ministry of External Affairs)
As an assistant in external affairs ministry, you would be required to do administration work such as compiling reports, sending emails, making calls, updating the events, and maintaining the files and bookkeeping. The possibility of foreign posting for few years is high as India has its embassy/consulate in many countries. If not, you will be posted in Delhi.

7. Assistant Enforcement Officer [Directorate of Enforcement, Department of Revenue]
The job profile is similar to that of an inspector job and involves inspecting, preventing and arresting those into money laundering and forgery. Posting will be in enforcement directorate offices located at Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chandigarh, Chennai, Cochin, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Bhubaneswar, Calicut, Guwahati, Indore, Jaipur, Jalandhar, Madurai, Nagpur, Patna, Srinagar and Varanasi only.

8. Assistant [Central Vigilance Commission]
Central Vigilance Commission is charged with monitoring all the vigilance activities carried out by various central government organisations. The work of an assistant is to update the case files, liaison with the respective departments. and collect the required info, record keeping and performing duties as laid by the rules.

9. Assistant [Ministry of Railways]
The job profile of an assistant in railways ministry is clerical in nature. It is one of the most favoured posts. In terms of grade, it is above upper division clerk (LDC). They get very good perks such as free and discounted railway passes for travelling anywhere in India.

10. Assistant [AFHQ]
Those appointed as an assistant within AFHQ shall be posted in Armed Forces Headquarters in Delhi. It is purely an indoors job wherein one would need to assist the section officer in imparting his duties of management, distribution and coordination of work to staff. Since AFHQ comes under the ministry of defence, you would be entitled to benefits provided to those in armed forces.

It is not an investigative officer profile and will include computer related or data-oriented work in the intelligence bureau. Posting could be at state headquarters in IB cell if there are vacancies or may be directly positioned in Delhi.

12. Assistant [Other Ministries/Departments/Organisations]
There are few other organisations under Govt. of India such as Dept. of Personnel and Training, Parliamentary Affairs, Election Commission etc., where these assistants would be posted.

13. Sub Inspectors [Central Bureau of Investigation]
The job profile is similar to that of state police but since CBI is under central govt., they have more powers to investigate anti-corruption cases and other conventional crimes.

14. Assistant Section Officer (Central Secretariat Service)
Those selected for these positions are appointed in various ministries and are required to prepare notes, reports etc., which are then sent to their superiors (section officer, undersecretary etc.,) who then pass it to the minister or preserve it as a record. This is the lowest post in Central Secretariat Services.

15. Inspector [Central Bureau of Narcotics]
This job is to keep a check on the cultivation of opium poppy in India and conduct periodic checks in companies to ensure it is not used illegally. They may also have to monitor the imports and exports for any smuggling of banned narcotic drugs.

16. Sub Inspectors [NIA]
National Investigation Agency leads investigations in terrorism and other national security related issues. Since the security of the country is of prime importance, the job of SI in NIA involves a lot of travelling, collecting evidence from sites, gathering intelligence inputs regarding terrorists and more.

17. Inspector of Posts [Department of Post]
This person is responsible for acquiring and promoting the business growth of post offices that come under his/her control. Posted as Sub-divisional Inspector or IP-PG (Public Grievance), he/she could be in charge of 60-70 post offices.

18. Gr.II [M/Statistics and Prog Implementation]
Only those with statistics degree are eligible for this job. Data collection and plotting of that info into information useful for the govt. to implement schemes is the core responsibility of this post. 19. Divisional Accountant [Offices under CAG]
They will be posted in offices located in various Indian cities that come under CAG. The job would require them to work in public works department of a state thereby auditing the expenses of works/projects carried out by that state government. The reports that point out the malpractices, if any are sent to the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India head office.

    I have completed my engineering and preparing for Competitive exams
    I have not studied statistics as a core subject in my engineering.
    To which post I am eligible in SSC CGL as I haven't studied statistics.
    Which are the best posts suited for the female candidate.
