**In this post, we will solve approximation questions that are asked from simplification and can be solved using simplification tricks that take less time in IBPS PO Exam**

Approximation questions in IBPS PO Exams require too many calculations to be done, which consumes a lot of time. However, these questions can be solved using simplification tricks and by selecting the nearest option. One should know how to approach the answer instead of solving the entire problem based on approximation questions.

In our previous post- Approximation I – Approximation Questions on finding Square Root of Imperfect Squares and Approximation II – Approximation Questions on finding Cube Root of Imperfect Cubes we discussed approximation questions based on finding square roots and cube roots of imperfect squares and cubes. In this post, we will solve approximation questions that are asked from simplification using simplification tricks.

In our previous post- Approximation I – Approximation Questions on finding Square Root of Imperfect Squares and Approximation II – Approximation Questions on finding Cube Root of Imperfect Cubes we discussed approximation questions based on finding square roots and cube roots of imperfect squares and cubes. In this post, we will solve approximation questions that are asked from simplification using simplification tricks.

**Example 6: Approximation Questions solved using simplification tricks**

**Question:**24.3 x 36.3 =?

**Solution:**

**Step 1:**

To solve these types of approximation questions we multiply 24 x 36 and mark an option which is close to 864.

However, if the options are too close then we need to

(24 x 36) + (24 x 0.3) + (36 x 0.3)

864 + 10.8 + 7.2 = 882.9

If the options are close then select the option which is closer to 883 approximately.

**Example 7:**

**Approximation Questions solved using simplification tricks**

**Question:**362.8 x 484.6 =?

**Solution:**

**Step 1:**To solve these types of approximation questions we can easily multiply 362 x 484 and mark a number which is close to 175208. However, if the options are too close then we need to

(362 x 484) + (0.8 x 484) + (362 x 0.6)

175208 + 387.2 + 217.2

= 175812.4

If the options are close then select the option which is closer to 175812 approximately.

It depends upon options how far and how close they are. In approximation questions we need not find the correct answers, we just need to find approximate values which are closer to the answer. But, if the options are too close then it’s better to leave the question and move on to other approximation questions as it’s time-consuming.

**Example 8:**

**Approximation Questions solved using simplification tricks**

**Question:**1504 x 5.876 – 24.091

1) 7200 2)9500 3)6950 4)5480 5)8800

**Step 1:**As the options are far from each other, we can approximately do the calculations and find the approximate answer for these approximation questions.

Approximate Calculation-

1500 x 6 – 24 = 8976

Therefore, we select option 5; 8800 as it is approximately close to 8976.

**Example 9:**

**Approximation Questions solved using simplification tricks**

**Question:**16.928 + 24.7502 + 5.015

1) 35 2)40 3)22 4)12 5)45

**Solution:**

**Step 1:**As the options are far, we need not do the exact calculations; we can do approximate calculations and find the answer.

17 + 25 + 5 = 47

Therefore, we select option 5; 45 as it is approximately close to 47.

**Example 10:**

**Approximation Questions solved using simplification tricks**

**Question:**∛7.938

^{2 }- 4.9256 =?

1) 70 2)65 3)30 4)25 5)90

**Solution:**As the options are far, we need not do the exact calculations; we can do approximate calculations and find the answer.

Approximately = 2 x 36 – 5 = 67

Therefore, we select option 1: 70 as it is approximately close to 67.

**Example 11:**

**Approximation Questions solved using simplification tricks**

**Question:**16.046

1) 3.5 2)7.9 3)1.9 4)5.6 5)6.2

**Solution:**

**Step 1:**

16 3 x 0.6 = 5.33 x 0.6 = 3.198

**Step 2:**

This is more than 3 so we can select any option that has a value more than 3.

Therefore, we select option 1: 3.5 as it is approximately close to 3

**Example 12:**

**Approximation Questions solved using simplification tricks**

**Question:**

963 + 4.895 – 9.24 =?

1)60 2)35 3)85 4)45 5)25

**Solution:**

**Step 1:**

31 + 25 – 9.25 = 56 – 9.24 = 46

Therefore, we select option 4: 45 as it is approximately close to 46

**Example 13:**

**Approximation Questions solved using simplification tricks**

**Question:**(61 x 24.879) + (14.059 – 6)

1) 110 2)190 3)220 4)160 4) 98

**Solution:**

**Step 1:**

(61 x 25) + (14 – 6)

6 x 25 + 8

150 + 8 = 158

Therefore, we select option 4: 160 as it is approximately close to 158
